K Gupta,
Professor,
Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee
Dr. Gupta obtained Ph.D. in Polymer Chemistry from University of Allahabad in 1985. He served in IIT Delhi as Scientist from 1985-1987 before joining University of Roorkee as lecturer in 1987. He is working as Professor since 2004 at Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee. He received many prizes/awards such as Khosala Research Award, Japanese Govt. Fellowship, Danish Govt. Fellowship, USSR Govt. Fellowship, Bulgarian Govt. Fellowship. His research interests cover kinetic, mechanistic and compositional studies of water soluble polymers and their characterization. He is also involved in synthesis and characterization of smart and stimuli responsive polymers for controlled devices and surface modifications of polymers for sensing and catalytic applications. He is currently working on applications of polymers in nano-science and nano-technology. He has published more than 90 papers in Journals of International repute and supervised several sponsored projects funded by various agencies. Besides guiding Ph.Ds/M.Techs thesis he is equally interested in class room teaching, which is well attended and appreciated by his students at large.
