Prahlad Ghosh's Biography

Prahlad Ghosh, Professor, University of Delhi

Prof. Prahlad C. Ghosh (born in January 1953) received his M.Sc in Biochemistry from Calcutta University in 1977 and did his Ph.D. on liposome technology from Indian Institute of Chemical Biology, Kolkata.in 1982. His contribution in the field of liposomes technology, well recognized at national and international level and was invited to write three chapters for three books in the field of liposome technology, published by well known publishers like CRC Press, London, Marcel Dekker Inc, New York. Prof. Ghosh moved to USA in 1982 and joined Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, Bethesda, Maryland for Post-Doctoral studies. Prof. Ghosh joined the University of Delhi in 1986 and has been working on intracellular trafficking of protein, liposomes, nanoparticles and delivery of biologically active molecules and drugs for the treatment of infectious and cancerous diseases. He has published more than 50 research papers in international journal of repute. He was the Head, Department of Biochemistry, and the Dean and Chairman, M.Phil (Biotechnology), Faculty of Inter-disciplinary and Applied Sciences, University of Delhi South Campus, New Delhi-110021. He was also member of Executive Council and Academic Council, Delhi University. He is elected Fellow of the National Academy of Sciences, India since 1997.
