DR. SANYOG JAIN is a young researcher and leading nanotechnologist currently working as Assistant Professor at Dept. of Pharmaceutics, National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER), Mohali (Punjab) where he is in-charge of DST funded "Centre for Pharmaceutical Nanotechnology" since July 2008. He has successfully developed several patentable nanotechnology based formulations for treatment of life threatening diseases and successfully licensed Tamoxifen-SEDDS technology for improved breast cancer therapy to an industry for further development and commercialization. He has filed 1 PCT (international patent), 10 Indian patents and published over 65 research papers in high impact international journals, authored 4 book chapters and delivered more than 50 invited talks at several conferences/workshops in both India and abroad
Dr. Sanyog Jain's research interest includes exploring different types of nano drug delivery systems for various biomedical applications. He is actively engaged in developing wide variety of smart nano drug delivery systems for targeted anticancer drug delivery; oral vaccine delivery; oral insulin delivery; enhanced oral bioavailability of anticancer drugs and antioxidants; topical and transdermal drug delivery, non-viral vectors for site specific gene delivery and functionalization of carbon nanotubes for drug delivery applications. Besides NIPER grant, his research work is mainly supported by major grants from various government funding agencies e.g. DST, DBT and ICMR. He is also handling several consultancy projects for various Pharma Industries. He has handled/ currently handling the projects of ~11 Crores Rupees funded by various Government Funding Agencies as well as Pharmaceutical Industries. So far, he has supervised the project work of 24 MS students and currently, currently, he is supervising 1 post doctoral, 10 Ph.D. scholars and 6 master’s student's project works.
Dr. Sanyog Jain is the member of several international learned societies viz. Controlled Release Society (CRS) and American Association of Pharmaceutical Sciences (AAPS) and the life member of Indian Pharmaceutical Association (IPA) and Association of Pharmaceutical Teachers of India (APTI). He has also successfully organized several very popular training programs on Nanotechnology in Advanced Drug Delivery at NIPER in the form of winter school and summer school during February 24-28, 2009, August 10-14, 2009, February 8-12, 2010 and August 23-27, 2010 and 4th winter school during February 28-March 04, 2011.
