Dr. R. Rajesh Kannan is currently working as Scientist C at Centre for Nanoscience and Nanotechnology (A joint initiative of IGCAR Kalpakkam and Sathyabama University Chennai). He had completed his M.Sc and Ph. D in Marine Biotechnology at Centre for Marine Science and Technology, Manomaniam Sundaranar University under the guidance of Dr. S. G. Prakash Vincent, Coordinator for Nanobiotechnology, CMST, MSU( EMBL alumni, DAAD, EMBO & Marie curie fellow). He has two patents and 7 publications in peer reviewed journals in zebrafish as model system. He is having technical experience in the area of Small Molecule Drug discovery, Nanoparticle biofunctional analysis and Organogenesis regulations of Phytomolecules in embryonic zebrafish. He was trained at European Bioinformatics Institute; Hinton UK and UCLA, USA funded by EMBL-EBI, Wellcome Trust (UK) and Company of Biologist UK. Currently he is running a project in Nanobiotechnology research area using zebrafish as model system funded by DBT, Govt of India. His current area of research interests are, drug delivery, advanced live cell/embryonic Imaging and Nanomedical Science applications using zebrafish model.
