Dr. Sterghios A. Moschos, M.S.B. obtained his BSc (Hons) Molecular Biology at University of Portsmouth in 1999 and PhD in Pharmaceutics at the School of Pharmacy, University of London in 2004. His post-doctoral work at the School of Pharmacy and subsequently the National Heart and Lung Institute, Imperial College focused on in vivo evaluation of liposomal formulations and cell penetrating peptides as delivery solutions for siRNA therapeutics, their utility in antiviral biodefence applications and the characterization of the role of small non-coding RNAs in lung disease. Recruited to lead oligonucleotide therapeutics exploratory research for the lung at Pfizer UK, his expertise was applied to liver diseases such as hepatitis C virus infection and novel biomarker discovery. Following the closure of the Pfizer site in Sandwich, he has been appointed Reader of Industrial Biotechnology and Biochemistry at the University of Westminster where he is currently setting up his independent research group.
