Nayere Taebnia,
Researcher,
Technical University of Denmark
Nayere Taebnia is a PhD candidate in the Center for Intestinal Absorption and Transport of Biopharmaceuticals (CitBio) at the department of health technology, Technical University of Denmark (DTU). She received her bachelor’s and master’s degree in chemical engineering from Sharif University of Technology, and her research revolves around the development of tissue models through 3D printing of cells and biocompatible materials. She uses cutting-edge biomaterials that are bioactive, flexible, self-healable and conductive in combination with cells to yield the desired biological systems. Currently, she is working on the design and development of a biomimetic human gut-on-a-chip, using high-resolution 3D printing, which is aimed at providing a powerful alternative in vitro model for drug development and personalized medicine.
