Since discovery in 1963, our understanding of this polynucleotide has been focussed on its roles in the nucleus, including DNA repair, transcription and chromatin structure maintenance. Recently, we discovered two novel roles of poly(ADP-ribose) in the cytoplasm – regulating microRNA activity and stress responses. |
