Guilhem Tourniaire studied Chemistry at the IUT of Montpellier, after an industrial placement at Unilever in Liverpool, he decided to further his study in the United Kingdom. He graduated with a Master in Applied Chemistry from Kingston University and then undertook a doctorate in high throughput Chemical Biology under the supervision of Professor Mark Bradley at the University of Edinburgh. After graduating, Guilhem worked for several start-up companies. At Smart Holograms, he worked on the development of biosensors for glucose monitoring. At Altrika, he was project manager and developed biomaterials for serum-free stem cell culture and for bacterial enrichment. In 2013, he decided to return to France and started working as sales manager and business developer for a German company called SCIENION AG. As part of this position, he established a business plan to investigate novel markets and applications related to precision cell dispensing. This latest assignment led to his appointment as Scientific and Managing director of Cellenion, a spin-off company based in Lyon and specialized in the fields of bioprinting and single-cell isolation.
