Jiang Zhong,
Assistant Professor,
University of Southern California
I obtained my B.S degree in Molecular Biology from California State University, San Jose and continued my graduate study at the University of Southern California (USC). I obtained an M.S degree in Computational Biology and a Ph.D. degree in Biochemistry/Molecular Biology at the School of Medicine from USC. The long-term goal of my research is to develop the knowledge base of gene regulation required to support manipulation of cell fate including differentiation and self-renewal. Specifically, my laboratory studies molecular signaling of cell differentiation with nanotechnology for manipulating and profiling many single-cells simultaneously. In contrast to the traditional approach of studying the lysate of a cell population, we study the molecular profiles of many single cells at normal or disease status to investigate gene regulation of cell fate.
