Remco Koninckx's Biography

Remco Koninckx, Post-doc, Jessa Hospital

Remco Koninckx graduated as a master in biomedical science at Hasselt University in 2005. After gaining a IWT-scholarship he started his PhD-research in the laboratory of Experimental Hematology in the Jessa Hospital in Hasselt (Belgium). In June 2010 he finalized his PhD-work and started working as a post-doc in this research group. Today he and his colleagues are developing a cardiac stem cell therapy to repair the heart after a myocardial infarction using their recently described cardiac atrial appendage stem cells (CASCs).
