Edward Balbirnie, Head, Cellectis

Edward Balbirnie, Ph.D., joined Cellectis in July 2010 as Chief Operations Officer of their stem cell subsidiary, Ectycell and is currently Head of GMP Operations, supporting several exciting clinical programs under development involving stem cell derived products and novel cancer therapies using the Cellectis genome engineering technology.

Dr. Balbirnie has 25 years experience in the pharma and biotech industries in the areas of in-vitro diagnostics, gene and cell therapy and recombinant protein development and manufacture. A Qualified Person, he has most recently held senior management positions in Quality Assurance at Elan (Ireland) and IDM (France) as well as in Bioproduction at LFB Biotechnologies (France).
