Jian Chen received his Ph.D. degree from the Institute of Biomaterials and Biomedical Engineering, University of Toronto in 2011. He joined the Institute of Electronics, Chinese Academy of Sciences in late 2011 as an assistant professor and was promoted to the rank of associate professor in early 2014. His research focuses on exploring microfluidics in the field of high-throughput screening and single cell analysis. Among other honors he was recently awarded “Young Investigator Award Under 35” from the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2015, “Young Investigator Award Under 35” from the Beijing Municipal Science and Technology Commission in 2014, “Young Investigator Award Under 35” from the Institute of Electronics, Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2013, and “Edward Rogers Sr. Graduate Scholarship” from the University of Toronto in 2011.
