Marcy Zenobi-Wong's Biography



Marcy Zenobi-Wong, Assistant Professor, The Swiss Federal Institute of Technology Zurich (ETH)

Prof. Zenobi-Wong is an American/Swiss national who holds a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University. She did her post-doctoral work in the Orthopaedic Research Laboratories at the University of Michigan and at the M.E. Müller Institute for Biomechanics, University of Bern, where she earned her Habilitation in 2000. She was a senior scientist in the Institute for Biomedical Engineering at ETH Zürich from 2003, where she also coordinated the master program in Biomedical Engineering. She is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Health Sciences & Technology since 2012.

Bioprinting’s great promise is to provide tissue grafts which are personalized in terms of their geometry, material properties and the patient’s own cells. In this talk I discuss the requirements of a good bioink and the processing parameters which effect the quality of the final graft.
