Albert Bosch's Biography



Albert Bosch, Professor, University of Barcelona

Albert Bosch (Full Professor of Microbiology, UB) has over 35 years of experience in Virology and has published more than one hundred peer-reviewed articles on enteric viruses in scientific journals, as well as complete books. He is a member of numerous scientific committees, notably the scientific committee of the Spanish Food Safety Authority, the European Standardization Committee (CEN) of the EU on standardization of molecular methods for virus detection in foods; he also belongs to the scientific panel Food and waterborne diseases of the European Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (ECDC). He acted as Chairman of the Astrovirus Study Group of the International Committee on Taxonomy of Viruses (ICTV). He is President of the International Society for Food and Environmental Virology and of the Spanish Society for Virology; he was the President of the Water Microbiology section of the Spanish Society for Microbiology and is member of the steering committee of the Health-Related Water Microbiology group of the International Water Association.
