Casey Maguire's Biography



Casey Maguire, Assistant Professor of Neurology, Harvard Medical School

Casey Maguire earned his PhD from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in 2006. In both his pre and postdoctoral research he has focused on the development of viral and nonviral gene delivery systems to improve the efficacy of gene therapy platforms.

We have previously shown that extracellular vesicles (EVs) can enhance the in vivo gene delivery efficacy of adeno-associated virus (AAV) vectors, the first commercialized gene therapy product in the western world.
Here we will provide an overview of our hybrid EV-AAV technology and provide current data on its use as a therapeutic to treat CNS disease.
