Alain Favre-Reguillon's Biography

Alain Favre-Reguillon, Associate Professor, University of Lyon

Dr. Alain Favre-Réguillon graduated in 1996 from University of Lyon with a PhD in organic chemistry on extraction of radioactive caesium using functionalized crown-ethers and calixarenes. Subsequently, he joined the Department of Chemistry at Conservatoire National des Arts et Métiers (CNAM-Paris) as a postdoctoral fellow. He develops new ligand platforms for MRI contrast agents. In 1998, he was appointed assistant professor at CNAM. In 2001, he moved back to University of Lyon at the Institute for Molecular and Supramolecular Chemistry and Biochemistry (ICBMS) in the team of Pr Marc Lemaire. Research activities at ICBMS focus on sustainable chemistry, atom economical strategies and catalytic processes. In 2011, he joined the Laboratoire de Génie des Réacteurs Catalytique (LGPC) headed by Dr. Claude de Bellefon. His research interests now lie in use of advanced flow reactors for mass or heat transfer demanding reactions and valorisation of lignocellulosic biomass. He is co-author of 94 publications and 14 patents.
