Greg Gibson's Biography


Greg Gibson, Chief Technology Officer, nTact

Greg Gibson serves as Chief Technology Officer at nTact in Dallas, TX. Mr. Gibson has over 30 years of experience in semiconductor, display and photovoltaic device manufacturing equipment and related processes. Greg directs the development of technology and new business for nTact and was the lead technical contributor in the development of nTact’s slot die coating technology. Prior to his work with nTact, Mr. Gibson held positions at Headway Research and Texas Instruments. Greg received his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Southern Methodist University and is an active member of various committees for the Society of Information Display (SID). Mr. Gibson has authored or co-authored numerous publications and holds over 25 U.S. and International Patents on fluid handling, coating and patterning.

Slot Die Coating is a proven method for the deposition of a variety of liquid chemistries onto glass, silicon, metal and plastic substrates, for the development and production of a broad range of products.  Historically used in industries such as flat panel display and photovoltaic manufacturing, the coating method is now gaining acceptance for biotechnology and pharmaceutical applications.  Advantages of this technique include high uniformity, low material waste, and compatibility with a wide range of coating materials.  Applications and process results will be discussed, including selective coating methods used for depositing an array of rectangular shapes on a single substrate or multiple substrates.
