Overview

Welcome to the Microfluidics Standards Workshop 2019 hosted by SelectBIO on Coronado Island, California from October 9-10, 2019.

SelectBIO are delighted to announce that the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) will be a Sponsor of this event along with the Microfluidics Association (MFA).

The theme of the 2019 Workshop is: "De-Risking Microfluidic Product Development".

The workshop is being held in tandem with the SelectBIO 11th Annual Lab-on-a-Chip and Microfluidics World Congress 2019 -- this enables companies and attendees to participate in these tandem events to derive the most value and offers excellent networking opportunities.

The Workshop is composed of presentations that seek to frame key themes in microfluidic product development and testing plus breakout sessions focusing on timely topics influencing development, testing and regulatory alignment for products; additionally there are networking opportunities including a cocktail reception to facilitate partnering and collaboration discussions.

Dr. Leanna Levine (President, ALine, Inc.) and Dr. Darwin Reyes-Hernandez (Biomedical Engineer, National Institute of Standards & Technology NIST) will be Co-Chairing the Workshop and will be leading the discussions and breakout sessions.

Agenda Topics

  • Benchmarking Assays Developed for Microfluidic Cartridges
  • Flow Control Issues (Protocols for Flow Control Verification and Sensor Integration for Fluid Control Verification)
  • Interoperability of Microfluidic Components and Devices and Approaches for Fluidic Connectivity From Macro to Micro and Micro to Micro
  • Issues in Device Integration with Instrument Components
  • Issues in Optical Integration
