Recombinant human Type I collagen (rhCollagen) from engineered plants was developed as BioInk for 3D-Bioprinting. The BioInk, rhCollagen-MA, is compatible with all major printing technologies. It has superior rheological properties and demonstrated high biocompatibility with different cells types.

Nadav Orr is the VP R&D at CollPlant, Israel, a Regenerative Medicine Company focused in the fields of tissue regeneration, orthobiologics and advanced wound care. At Collplant, Nadav manages since 2014, a multidisciplinary R&D team in the fields of plants genetics engineering and breeding, process development, and product development and application. Before joining CollPlant he spent 9 years managing R&D team at Omrix, a subsidiary of Ethicon J&J specialized in haemostatic and passive immunity. Nadav holds a PhD in immunology from the Weizmann Institute, Israel and BSc in plant sciences from the Hebrew University in Jerusalem.
