Thomas Van Gerven

Tom Van Gerven is associate professor at KU Leuven (University of Leuven, Belgium) and head of the division of Process Engineering for Sustainable Systems in the department of Chemical Engineering. He is currently promoter of 12 PhD students. His expertise is situated in the use of alternative energy forms (ultrasound, light) for chemical processes, in particular leaching, extraction and precipitation. He is the author of ca. 80 peer reviewed publications and has an h-index of 16. He is also chairman of the EFCE Working Party on Process Intensification.
