Eva Yihua Loo

Dr Yihua Loo is a research scientist at the Institute of Bioengineering and Nanotechnology, Singapore. She is working in Prof Charlotte Hauser’s team to develop various biomedical applications for a unique class of ultrashort peptides. Prior to this, she was a graduate student in Prof Kam Leong’s lab at Duke University, during which she designed macroformulations for non-viral oral gene delivery. Her scientific interests include oral delivery of bioactive therapeutics, application of stem cells towards patient-tailored therapies, development of organotypic cellular models to evaluate pathogen infection and drug screening. She recently received a Young Investigator’s Grant to bioprint peptide bioinks and cells into 3D constructs to study viral infections of GI epithelia.
