Course Title:  Industrial and Commercial Aspects of Organ-on-a-Chip Systems

This course presented by Dr. Holger Becker, CSO of Microfluidic ChipShop GmbH and a very-respected scientist from the microfluidics/lab-on-a-chip community describes the current commercial status of organs-on-chips, circa 2017.

While organ-on-a-chip devices currently are a hot topic in the academic world, their transition towards commercial use is still in its infancy. The course will discuss and highlight aspects of this process.

Specific Topics Addressed in this Course

  • Review of manufacturing technologies available for organ-on-a-chip devices
  • Evaluation of organ-on-a-chip devices for industrial use and scalability
  • Highlighting of production challenges
  • Discussion of industrial user requirements
  • Factors influencing device cost

All course delegates will receive presentations utilized in this course which are an excellent resource for R&D presentations, business plans and investor presentations.  Additionally, course delegates will receive the latest scientific publications and reviews focused on organs-on-chip, tissue chips, microphysiological systems to complement the content presented in the course.

In the evening of July 9, 2017, all course delegates are invited to a wine and beer reception to promote networking and collaborations.
