Held in conjunction with Academic Discovery Workshop
22 Sep 2014, at 09:00-12:00 in Baltimore, MA, USA
High-content screening (HCS) is a powerful technology platform with broad applications from basic research to drug development. In combination with a broad range of available functional and localization markers, HCS is the most powerful tool for evaluating cellular responses to various manipulations. Besides yielding deep mechanistic insights, HCS also allows large scale cell based phenotypic assays. Who Should Attend: Researchers who plan to develop or use HCS technologies Scientists in need of solutions for phenotypic screens Biological core representatives seeking new applications for HCS technologies How You'll Benefit from This Course: An introduction to HCS Overview of available HCS technologies Examples of functional and localization markers and their application Attendees may bring real life challenges they would like to have brain-stormed in the group. As many as as time permits will be discussed.
Course Topics: Introduction to High-Content Analysis and Screening (HCA / HCS) HCS technologies Examples of functional and localization markers and their application An overview of open source HCS software Discussion of current challenges brought by course attendees
