Who should attend?

The course is suitable for scientists, technicians, engineers and clinicians who would like to be informed about nano-toxicology – the new science associated with the potential harmful effects of nanomaterials.  The course will provide a comprehensive overview of the latest research on the toxic effects of a diverse range of nanomaterials which humans are exposed to every day of their lives.

The course will be in two parts:

Part I

Identify for the attendee:

  • The properties which affect the transport and toxicity of a nanoparticle
  • Answer the question “Do nanoparticles accumulate in the body” and cause harm
  • Explain how nanoparticles behave in the natural environment.

Part II

Will develop a discussion around the reported beneficial versus the harmful effects of nanomaterials.
