Anil Singh's Biography



Anil Singh, Senior Scientist, ICAR-Indian Institute of Agricultural Biotechnology

Dr. Anil Kumar Singh has received his Ph.D in Plant Physiology from Govind Ballabh Pant University of Agriculture & Technology, Pantnagar in 2004. Dr. Singh has joined International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (ICGEB) New Delhi in 2005 as Postdoctoral Research Associate where his major research area was abiotic stress adaptation in plants. In 2011, he joined, CSIR-Institute of Himalayan Bioresource Technology, Palampur as Scientist. While working at CSIR-IHBT, Palampur, three scholars have submitted their Ph.D. thesis under his guidance. In Dec. 2015, Dr. Singh joined ICAR-Indian Institute of Agricultural Biotechnology, Ranchi as Senior Scientist. His research interests focus on understanding the regulation of plant adaptation to changing environment using next-generation sequencing technologies and allied computational approaches. His lab is also involved in identification and characterization of genes responsible for biotic/abiotic stress tolerance and their deployment using transgenic approach. Dr. Singh has 45 publications in National as well as International peer-reviewed journals and one patent to his credit.
