Punit Srivastava, Assistant Director, Daiichi Sankyo India Pharma Pvt Ltd

Dr. Punit Srivastava is a Asst Director of Biology at Daiichi Sankyo Life Science Research Centre India, Gurgaon, India, since July, 2010. More than eleven years of effort in drug discovery research has resulted in one molecule entering human trial for COPD and several as lead candidates. Dr Punit has published more than fifteen articles in peer reviewed journals and filed atleast 6 patents. As part of drug discovery team at Daiichi Sankyo Life Science Research Centre India, Punit is leading projects in area of auto-immune and airway diseases.

Dr Punit was part of drug discovery group of Ranbaxy Laboratories Ltd since 2004 till June, 2010. Punit is a pharmacologist by training having pursued his graduate studies in the area of enzymology at the School of Biotechnology, India from 2001. Postdoctoral trainings were obtained at the Medical College of Wisconsin, USA, in the area of molecular pharmacology from 2001–2002 and from 2002-2004 at University of Connecticut, USA in the area of arachidonic acid metabolic pathway. Dr Punit was awarded a Gold-Medal postgraduate degree in Biochemistry and graduate degree in Chemistry from Banaras Hindu University in 1997 and 1995, respectively.
