Dr Prakash C. Jha is at present associated with Central University of Gujarat holding multiple administrative responsibilities besides being an Assistant Professor, teacher and research scientist. He is the coordinator for Centre for applied chemistry in the School of Chemical Sciences, Coordinator for University level Industry-Academia Interface Cell, Coordinator and Nodal officer for Govt. of India’s recently launched Flagship programme Bachelor in Vocational study (B.Voc) for “Rational Approach to Drug Design” at Central University of Gujarat, Gandhinagar. He is also a nominated member of President of India’s innovation club at Rashtrapati Bhavan, New Delhi. Earlier even he has served as Nodal officer for the National Mission for Education through Information and communication Technology (NMEICT) project at Central University of Gujarat, Sector-30, Gandhinagar, Gujarat (India). He is trained in an interdisciplinary science interfacing chemistry, physics, mathematics and computational material and pharmaceutical science and has a PhD from Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore (India). Prakash’s professional engagements have involved roles of a researcher, evaluator, advisor, and consultant and as a teacher abroad as well as in India. Prakash’s one of the co-author research work has been awarded by the Corporate World as 2nd best research work, in recognition of outstanding publication in the field of Computer Aided Drug and Molecular Design and also another publication in the drug designing has led to his nomination for the 40 best young investigators in this field by a team of experts from USA. He has been associated with Swedish, Norwegian and Indian academy of science, American Chemical Society in various capacities. Dr Prakash has also been involved in curriculum design and academic programme restructuring at various departments at Royal Institute of technology, Stockholm and Academic and executive council member of Central University of Gujarat. After joining Central University of Gujarat, he has been invited as an expert in the various committees for faculty improvement programme of Kendriya Vidayala Sangthan, invited as a key speaker for college/university level faculty improvement programme organized by various University across the country. Dr Prakash has been also active participants as an ICT expert in industry related events such as eINDIA 2011, 2012 at Gandhinagar & Delhi, High Performance Computing (HiPC)-2012, 2014 at CDAC, Pune. Before joining Central University of Gujarat, Dr Prakash was associated in various capacities with Royal Institute of Technology, Stockholm (Sweden), Stockholm University, Stockholm (Sweden), Jacobs University, Bremen (Germany), The Centre for Theoretical and Computational Chemistry (CTCC), Tromso (Norway).
