Sanjay Batra's Biography

Sanjay Batra, Principal Scientist, CSIR Central Drug Research Institute

Sanjay Batra completed his Ph.D. in 1993 from the Medicinal and Process Chemistry Division at Central Drug Research Institute, Lucknow. He has been working as scientist in the same department since 1995 and has interest in development of compounds for neglected diseases and chemistry associated with Morita-Baylis-Hillman reaction and heterocyclic chemistry. He has been recipient of Bronze-medal from the Chemical Research Society of India for the year 2010-2011 and 4th D. K. Banerjee Memorial Lecture (2011) by the department of chemistry, IISc Bangalore. He is a member of the Project Advisory Committee for Chemical Sciences committee Fast Track, DST SERB. He is also Chief-co-Editor of Anti-Infective agents published by Bentham Publications. He has more than 100 research publications to his credit and has delivered several invited lectures. He is also associated with the OSDD program initiated by CSIR.
