Suqi Zhang's Biography

Suqi Zhang, Researcher and PhD Candidate, KU Leuven

Suqi Zhang is a senior PhD candidate in Prof. Simon Kuhn’s group at Catholic University of Leuven (KU Leuven), Belgium. His current research interests mainly lie in the development of continuous-flow microreactor setups for electrochemical synthesis, as well as utilizing acoustic streaming as a powerful tool to further intensify organic synthetic processes.

Electrochemically mediated ATRP (eATRP) has attracted much interest due to its convenience in influencing polymerization behavior externally. This tall will focus on the recent realization of continuous flow eATRP by our group using a novel sonicated microreactor setup. The setup is also further developed into a microreactor cascade by connecting two identical reactors in series. Preliminary results showed the reaction rate was higher and good molecular weight evolution was obtained in most cases.
