Sophie Vriz's Biography

Sophie Vriz, Head of Laboratory, College de France

After her PhD at Inst. J Monod and post-doc at MRC (Mill-Hill), Sophie Vriz started working on cell reprogramming during regeneration in the adult fish at Pasteur Institute and Ecole Normale Supérieure. Her team recently joined the Center for Interdisciplinary Research in Biology (CIRB) in Collège de France. She developed optogenetic tools to tackle fundamental questions in vivo in collaboration with D. Bensimon and L. Jullien (both at Ecole Normale Superieure). Since 2002, Sophie Vriz is Professor at University Paris-Diderot, and has served in several committees and boards, within the University and in the French National University Council (CNU).
