I am Chief of the Renal Division and Chief of the Bioengineering Division at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Past-President of the American Society of Nephrology. I have a long-standing interest in various aspects of cellular injury and adaptive and maladaptive repair mechanisms in the kidney with a special emphasis on the role of inflammation, biomarkers and stem cells. We have a great deal of experience with various models of AKI and chronic kidney disease. Our work has been cited more than 44,000 times and my citation h-index index is 110. I have received two MERIT awards from NIH and serve on the NIH NIDDK Advisory Council.
