Mayur Yergeri's Biography



Mayur Yergeri, Professor & Prinicipal, Dr Bhanuben Nanavati College of Pharmacy

Dr. Mayur completed his B. Pharm and M. Pharm in Medicinal Chemistry from Gulbarga University and then PhD from University of Mysore in Chemistry. Is an exponent in acridones and their ability to reverse MDR in cancer cells. Was awarded BOYSCAST fellowship in 2006 for advanced training in cancer research under GJ Peters, Head, Pharmacology, VU University Medical Center, Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Subsequently, awarded Young Scientist award from SERB, under DST Scheme of Rs. 23 lacs in the Year 2010. Have completed projects from UGC, ICMR till now.
Has been awarded International travel grants from DST and ICMR. Has been recently awarded International Long term Fellowship by Department of Health Research under ICMR for one year to VU University Medical Center, Amsterdam, the Netherlands.
Awaiting funding from ICMR, DST, DBT, DAE and CSIR under various schemes on reversing MDR in cancer cells using various techniques like nanotechnology and drug delivery aspects. Recently one our Project on tuberculosis is short listed for presentation under Melinda Bill Gates Foundation.
Dr. Mayur has more 30 international papers published in various medicinal chemistry and oncology journals.
