Dr. Rajender Singh Sangwan was born on August 24th, 1958 in village Badal (District-Bhiwani, Haryana). He had his Master and Doctorate degree from Haryana Agricultural University, Hisar and carried out post-doctoral research at Queens University, Kingston (Canada). He started his independent research career as scientist at CSIR-Central Institute of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants (CIMAP), Lucknow, in 1986. He served at CSIR-CIMAP successively as Senior Scientist, Principal Scientist, Senior Principal Scientist and Chief Scientist. He served as head of Metabolic and Structural Biology at CSIR-CIMAP. Since 2012, he is founder Chief Executive Officer of Center of Innovative and Applied Bioprocessing (CIAB), Mohali. CIAB is a national institute under Department of Biotechnology (Govt. of India). His research interests include bioresource processing, food and nutraceuticals, specialty biogenic chemicals, medicinal and aromatic plants/products. He has published more than 100 papers in high impact journals of international repute with H-index of 31.
