Susanta Samajdar, Vice President - Medicinal Chemistry, Aurigene Discovery Technologies Limited

Dr Susanta received his PhD in Synthetic Organic Chemistry from Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science (IACS), Kolkata and subsequently moved to MD Anderson Cancer Center for a Post-Doctoral training on anti-cancer drug discovery. He has over 16 years of synthetic and Medicinal Chemistry research experience in Indian Industries. Dr Susanta has experience in leading multi-disciplinary drug discovery teams that successfully delivered several preclinical development candidates. He has experience in working with various target classes including GPCRs, Ion channels, Proteases, Kinases and NHRs, across different therapeutic areas like Oncology, Pain and Inflammation, Metabolic Disorders and Neurosciences. Exploring newer tools and technologies in small molecule drug discovery research remains one of Dr Susanta’s favorite subjects. He has more than 20 research publications and more than 25 patent applications to his credit. At present Dr Susanta is Vice President in Medicinal Chemistry and leads discovery research portfolio at Aurigene Discovery Technologies Ltd.
