Prem M S Chauhan's Biography

Prem M S Chauhan, Professor (AcSIR), Central Drug Research Institute

He received his PhD from Central Drug Research Institute, Lucknow /Agra University, Agra, India, in the year 1984 and joined CDRI during year october1988 as scientist. Currently, last 7 years he is working as Scientist-F (Senior principal scientist) at Central Drug Research Institute, Lucknow, India.
Dr Chauhan also served as Senior research associate in University of Liverpool, UK (Jan.1987-Oct.1988) and University East Anglia (April-2002-June.2003). He is the recipient of DAAD fellowship (2000). He also visited RWTH Achen, Germany (April-2000 to June2000).
He has authored 125 Research articles, one book chapter and six Indian patents. He is also a member of Royal Society of Chemistry, UK, American chemical society, USA, Indian Society of Chemists and Biologists (Founder General Secretary), Association of pharmaceutical professionals. He was awarded Fellow of Royal Society Chemistry (FRSC) etc. He is the founder editor in Chief of journal CHEMISTRY AND BIOLOGY INTERFACE.
Dr Chauhan has supervised 19 Ph.D students, 5students presently working for their Ph.D programme. From Last 28years, his group was mainly involved in design and synthesis of bio activeheterocycles as Antitubercular, Antimalarial, Antileishmanial and Anticancer agents.
