Lukas Prantl, M.D., Ph.D. is an internationally known plastic and hand surgeon. He is Professor and Chairman of the Center of Plastic and Aesthetic, Hand- and Reconstructive Surgery at the University of Regensburg, Medical Center. He received his medical degree from the University of Innsbruck (Austria) and Bologna (Italy). After specialisation in General Surgery, Plastic surgery and Hand Surgery at the Technical University of Munich and at the University of Regensburg, he did further training in Plastic Surgery at different famous Universities over the world. He is an active member of numerous national and international societies and president of the German Society for Clinical Hemorheology and Microcirculation. Dr. Prantl has been the recipient of different prestigious national and international research awards and has been Chair and faculty member of numerous national and international conferences. As an innovative surgeon and scientist he has published more than 100 peer review articles and 10 book chapters. He is a visiting Professor at the University of Texas, M.D. Anderson Cancer Center and a member of the Interdisciplinary Stem Cells Research team. In recent year he focused on the harvesting of stem cells from adipose tissue (ASCs) and the clinical application for tissue regeneration.
