The speaker will discuss about fabrication methods of low cost micro-structures and microfluidic channels, and their applications in adhesion science, fluid flow studies, and cell biology.

Abhijit Majumder, Assistant Professor, Indian Institute of Technology Bombay

Abhijit Majumder

Dr Abhijit Majumder received his PhD from the Department of Chemical Engineering, IIT Kanpur in 2010. His doctoral research was on microfluidic assisted adhesion and soft mechanics. In 2010, he moved to NCBS Bangalore and then in 2012 to Harvard Medical School Boston for his Post-Doctoral research on cell mechanics and microfluidic devices respectively. Abhijit joined Department of Chemical Engineering, IITB in 2014 as Assistant Professor. His present research interest includes stem cell, cell mechanics and microfluidics. Abhijit has published multiple papers in peer-reviewed journals including Science, Langmuir, and Soft Matters. He is a DBT-Wellcome Trust fellow and winner of TR35 India award.
