Course Title

Microfluidics and Lab-on-a-Chip (LOAC) for Point-of-Care (POC) Diagnostics Applications: Technologies, Applications, Research Trends

Scope of this Short Course

The course will provide a broad overview of Lab-on-a-Chip (LOAC) technologies as an enabling technology for new product development in diagnostics and the life sciences. Emphasis is put on the complete development process for commercial microfluidics-enabled products, covering aspects of development strategies, manufacturing technologies, application cases, markets as well as aspects of commercialization and latest trends in the academic world. The course is suitable for scientists, technicians, engineers but also business developers who would like to develop a deeper understanding of Lab-on-a-chip technologies as a key element for the development of new product in a broad range of markets, especially as it relates to POC diagnostics development.
