Nanotechnology for the Treatment of Lung Cancer: The Future of Targeted Therapy

This presentation will give a brief account of the targeted novel systems for lung cancer. It will discuss regarding the encapsulation of paclitaxel in nanosystem and how through this volume of distribution is significantly reduced and the concentration of drug in the lungs is significantly increased, resulting in a decrease in the amount and types of non-specific toxicities and an increase in the amount of drug that can be effectively delivered to the lung tumor.

This Presentation will discuss regarding the role of P-glycoprotein, Survivin and CD133 positive cancer stem cells for enhancing Cancer resistance, promoting Cancer Survival and recurrence. Further, it will also highlight the delivery of Fe-bLF-ACSC NanoCarriers, oligo LNA siRNA, Nanoparticles loaded with SR9 and LNAsiRNA-5-FU to target and inhibit survivin which has a direct inhibitory effect on p-gp and CD133 CSCs.

Ocular Delivery to the Posterior Eye using a Novel Nanolipo-Polymeric System

In the first part of the talk, uptake and clearance pathways in the eye will be discussed. Next part will include discussion on the use of nanostructured systems to defy the existing ocular barriers so as to reach the internal eye including the retina. Last part will focus on how they have developed a novel nanolipo-polymeric system (IPA: 2074/Del/2014), which could reach up to the retina in an intact form.
